Autumn Flowers

Autumn Flowers

Spent some time over the last week out and about in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park and the Akron Metroparks, hiking and photographing…took close to 2000 photos! ack. I love to shoot, but that is a whole lot of editing time! And I usually start the editing process and after the first hundred or so photos, I get bored with them to the point that I don’t even want to look at them anymore. So few of my photos see the light due to that! So i figured I might want to go through and grab some of my favorites before I get tired of them and share a few with you here..

the first few were taken near sunset at Top of the World on Bath Road….I had been there a few times before, but had never really explored anything, and was pleased to see that there were even a couple of trails up there…didn’t travel too far on them that evening, but will definitely go back for a more thorough exploration.

There is a lovely meadow right off the car park, and a couple of benches under a large tree..perfect for watching a sunset…unfortunately, the meadow isn’t very large, and there was a great cluster of trees blocking the sunset, but still managed to get a couple of nice silhouettes.

the remaining photos were taken and Monroe Falls Metropark, Tallmadge meadow area…now their meadow is humongous! Plenty of room for sunsets, loads of wildflowers, (a whole lot of goldenrod, if you have allergies!) and lots of paths for hiking!

they also have some very nice wooded trails as well and a very lovely swamp…I also took photos of both, but since I am sticking to flowers, I will just have to post them in a later post. The same goes for their awesome little cemetery which has hundreds of burials, but only 3 tombstones..it was the cemetery for the Summit County home…once upon a time.

There are so many wildflowers and butterflies, bees and other little critters that it’s definitely a photographers haven! When you walk through the paths, the flowers are so plentiful and so tall, that you can’t even see past where you are…

Into the depths I go.....as a photographer and an artist, i feel that it is my job to get to know my subjects to the core...it is only then that I can bring out their soul....
